Dear Members,

A brief history. I have been gf for 1 1/2 years after suffering rectal
bleeding, abdominal pain for 2 years. I went to a nutritionist who put
me on gf dairy free, and then I asked to GI doctor to test for celiac.
I tested positive for IGG only, and the biopsies were inconclusive
because I was gf for eight weeks when they were done. I won't do a
challenge.

Skip forward to now, and my five year old daughter has had intermittent
diarrhea, not associated with illness for two months. She always has
abdominal pain with each bout. I told myself that I wouldn't subject my
children to testing unless they had symptoms, because technically I am
not a diagnosed celiac. Well, now I took her to her pediatrician and
asked for the testing, which he did to humor me, but was nice. She has
the same results as I do, negative to all but IGG which is pretty high
at 69. I am now getting a referral to a GI for her. Since she is
still on a normal diet, I am leaning toward doing an endoscopy for a
definite diagnosis. I would not want to go gf with her if it is only on
a hunch. My question is, what other illnesses does anyone know of that
show only an elevation of IGG. I have never been testing for IGA
deficiency. Any feedback in more than welcome.

Thank you,
Maria Bessem
