First thing I would do is check for new drivers on Matrox's website.

Also note that some videocard's don't like the FSB being clocked too high.

The first thing you should do, before installing any new videocard is to
make sure all inf files for the old card if there was one are deleted from
c:\windows\inf\other. Next delete all dll's pertaining to the old card if
there was one. Last run regedit, and do a search for registry entries
pertaining to the old card if there is one, and delete them.

Lastly, make sure since you are running a VIA chipset motherboard make sure
you are using the latest motherboard drivers and also make sure than the
videocard is not conflicting with anything else in your computer.
