  EISA slots can handle ISA cards, of course, but ISA is too slow for
100BaseT.  So there aren't any cheap ISA 100BaseT cards.

  The only other option I can think of is to look for an EISA PCCard
(NOT PCMCIA!) or USB card, and 100BaseT adapters to fit those
standards.  You might do a little better than $400 that way, but
perhaps not by much.
