You might want to "Let your fingers do the walking." My monitor (not a
Gateway) went out last spring, and I found a listing in the Yellow Pages
for a local electronics shop (Raleigh, NC) that includes monitor repair
in their list of specialties. It ran about 90$, and all has been well
since then. Like most repair shops, they had a minimum diagnosis charge
that was applied against the final bill; they didn't do the repair until
they had my OK. That way, my only risk was the bench charge.
