Via's support was down when I checked. Go to http://www.viahardware.com/ .
They have all the latest drivers for via hardware including the AC-97
drivers. They work pretty too by the way, as good as some of the less
expensive sound cards around.

Subject: [PCBUILD] No Sound
> I just installed a new Acorp 993A/AP mobo with 128mb ram,25gb HD,cd-rom,
celeron 600mhz processor. Mobo uses Via chipsets and, has onboard sound
chip(AC-97-CODEC. I've set the bios to enable onboard sound and Windows
tries to detect it thru the wizard (called PCI multimedia device) but can't
find a driver for it. I don't know the VIA website url. The manual says I
don't need to have a seperate sound card if I enable the onboard chip. Where
can I find a driver for this chip or does anyone else have any suggestions
regarding my problem. Any answers will be much appreciated..Thanks Ed
