AMR offers no real advantages over a convential PCI modem other than cost.
They transfer data at the same speed, but just come on a much smaller card.
External modems are the way to go, as it is hard to find a hardware based
internal modem.  Winmodems should be avoided due to speed and stability
problems.  USR's have always been top notch...
