Maybe printers are like cats: they know when you don't like
them and make you pay for it, one way or another.
I've had my HP-500 since 1987. The only service it needed
during this time was when it sat in a storage facility for 5
months till I could retrieve it when I relocated.
After going through 3 or 4 Epsons in my office over two
years, we've had one HP 1170 CS for two years without
incident.
Who knows?
