My boyfriend and I stopped using salt entirely quite a few months ago--can't
remember exactly when. It was a hard adjustment at first, but I don't miss
salt at all now. We have a hard time when we eat out because of how much
salt restaurants add to food, often making it inedible for us. As a cook,
I've found that cooking with no salt requires much greater skill because
you're dealing with the true flavors of foods. Salt can completely mask
tasteless food, and often is used as a crutch.
