Also, remember that allergic reactions can change over time and with
additional exposure, perhaps especially as your child goes through
adolescence. Even if it appears like s/he can take lactose-containing
medicines without a reaction now, I'd monitor very closely, because the day
might come when they do cause a problem, and the history of use without
incident may make it harder to notice them as a potential cause ... that,
and part of me wants to answer, "Just avoid them on principal." ;)
