Good Morning Gambia L Bantaba,
The hypocrisy is still on. The GPU Coordinator was invited by the police for questioning following the election mess. He has been asked to report again. PLEASE NO BREAKING NEWS OF LIES from ghost "reliable sources" that could make things worse. The man is easily intimidated by those doing the in-fighting because he is non-Gambian. The collective guilt of the betrayers is hunting them already.
Some restraint and responsibility please.
I am not crying over spilled milk but I am pissed off by people who are disturbing my peace and misinterpreting the results of GPU election as popularity test of Jabiyong Ndey Tapha Sosseh. The results only reflect dirty politics even if the rules of democracy means we should "accept" them. But the question marks will remain whether the noisemakers like it or not.
The reports about "TENSIONS" (I call it the protests of young journalists against the threats, bully and hypocrisy of senior journalists) tell us that there was mess and ugly politics on the ground. I have concrete evidence from voters on the ground to back up my claims but I will not spoil the value of the items of evidence by carelessly posting them anywhere. I will however use them should the liars continue.
Contrary to claims that Jabiyong Ndey Tapha Sosseh came out of nowhere to announce her re-election wish via Skype, I have evidence that Jabiyong's messages were suppressed and NOT delivered to the voters on time.
One of the younger voters confirmed that the USB internet connection was manipulated (using poor internet speed/connection as one of the excuses) and Jabiyong Ndey's message via skype could not be well understood, not to mention her earlier messages that were blocked. Messages like: she was NOT interested in seeking a second term (it is her right to seek re-election anyway) but she was approached to seek a new mandate. Banking on the sincerity of the people who told her to stand, she was now standing.
I think those disturbing our peace over journalistic ethics, democracy and mature politics should not shy away from exposing the rot and tensions. I have no direct or indirect benefit from the election victory or defeat of any GPU member but my conscience cannot just condone the HEINOUS BETRAYAL, LIES AND DIRTY TRICKS BY PEOPLE WHO CLAIM TO BE CHAMPIONS OF ETHICS, TRANSPARENCY, FAIRNESS, you name the empty buzzwords.
How can they expect people to consider them credible whenever they spank Yahya Jammeh over his lack of respect for political maturity, rule of law, bla-bla when they themselves cannot allow simple elections without voter intimidation and deceit? It is the double standard I decried lately.
Aynway, THERE ARE SOME INTERNATIONAL DONOURS AND PARTNERS WHO WANTED TO REJECT THE GPU ELECTION RESULTS DUE TO REPORTED VOTER MANIPULATIONS BY SOME MEDIA CHIEFS WHO EVEN THREATENED YOUNGER VOTERS (for example with refusal to publish their articles/reports in their papers, refusal to promote or engage them well and, even sack them if not lie against them) BUT MY OWN ADVICE WAS FOR THEM TO WAIT UNTIL THE ELECTION OBSERVERS AND THE THREATENED YOUNG VOTERS PUBLISH THEIR REPORTS THROUGH CREDIBLE OUTLETS AND MEANS. THEY CAN THEN MAKE THEIR RESPECTIVE STANCES KNOWN OR UNKOWN.
The following lines are from the tentative report with typos of a GPU voting member explaining some of the causes of the tensions. I am jealously guarding the rest and OTHER evidences by OTHER voters from the ground. I will not share them until the right time as the Mandinkas would say "KUMO NING AFO LUNGHO LEM", a saying has it day.:

"The Congress has gone with the least transparency.
1. The Voter list was predominately dominated by Foroyaa with the majority voting rights. this gave them the opportunity to brought a list of candidates from the Camp thus enabling them the opportunity to win... positions. it seems that voting's where done before the lection itself. so the elections was just to formalize the results and not to make any changes.
2. Share of Information: the reasons of them not sharing the information to the young journalists was a well plan game that was prepared by the top management of the GPU in (Ndey Tapha Sosseh's) absence they had the mails and confirm received of the information on Thursday 23rd June 2011 while the congress starts on friday 24th June 2011. why was it not share to the rest of the congress delegates?
3. Instigation: The congress was the best place for me to truly realize our true friends. the enemies of free expressions came to just against (Ndey Tapha Sosseh's) presidency without any substantive grounds. they are enemies of freedom of expression and development. this are the people that i gave high credits and respects but deserves none.....
****
It is interesting that some of the people who cooked the last minute betrayal of Jabiyong Ndey Tapha Sosseh have started feeling guilty...
Life behind-the-scenes can be exiting.
Anyway, I once gain congratulate the GPU's new executive and I wish them well.
Let us pray that my Brother President Jammeh will not accuse GPU of being an instrument of an opposition parties and dictatorial media chiefs and then make life diffictul for them. I am sure his NIAs are busy connecting the dots on the congress "tensions" and politicking.
The police are already disturbing the GPU Coordinator.
Thanks and I am going into my hibernation. Please no one should fall victim to hypocrisy, lies and injustice UNTIL it disturbs my well-deserved disappearance from our national discourse.
