I have an Intel 800 EB for which the core voltage is 1.65. My BIOS
recommends that although I can change the core voltage that I not do so. I
am running it on an Asus P3V4X mobo. If your mobo doesn't support that core
voltage I'd suggest you not do the upgrade. Joel
Subject: [PCBUILD] coppermain CPUs
I have motherboard SOYO SY-6BA and Intel Pentium II 450 MHz
(100x4.5) processor (slot 1).
User Manual writes that this mainboard
supports CPUs with frequency up to 600 MHz.
Recently I found on www.soyousa.com
that this board supports up to 800 (100x8) MHz (and I can see that
in my BIOS settings) and have ordered already processor
Intel Pentium III 700E MHz (SLOT 1 OEM).
But some people told me that this "coppermain" processor
needs 1.5v core voltage and probably my board can't give
such small voltage.
Please, if someone has info about maximal core voltage of
coppermain processors let me know.
Also, how I could check this situation:
the new CPU could blow-up before I will able to read out
core voltage value in BIOS?
