Generally the CD-ROM driver installed from the bootdisk is generic, and does
work with most CD-ROM's. I seem to recall seeing that PCTECH had a file
related to universal CD drivers. Maybe you can have a friend make you a new
Win 98 bootdisk and add this file to it. I just did a clean install of Win
98 on another drive using the CD-ROM drivers on a bootdisk I made from an
earlier install. I have the most generic CD-ROM, a Mitsui 12min-24Xmax that
is 4 years old. It worked fine with the CD drivers on the Win 98 boot disk.
