Starting a Pc with a Mobo Aopen MX3W PRO R 1.2 I read " 64512K OK + 1024K shared memory". What does shared memory means?

Since it uses an i 810 chip set, the 4 MB video memory reported by windows 98, are on a chip on the mobo or are taken from the SDRAM memory?
Is it posible to get the video memory up to 8 MB?
TIA
Roberto
