I can go one better - how about cyclic eating for women? Since becoming
Paleo, you can track the complete moon cycle by me!. The first half of my
cycle up until the minute I feel my egg drop (from new moon to half moon), I
eat less salt, less fat, leaner meat and want more vegetables. From the
moment that egg has hit bottom until the great flow.. (half moon to full
moon), I eat more fat than ever, more salt, crave organs, could care less
if veggies existed. It is not something I intellectualize about. Its feels
strictly primal, and the more I let it happen naturally (without a lot of
mental "woulda, shoulda, coulda), the smoother my moods, the painless the
flow. In the 14 years I ate otherwise, I never had a normal 28 day
cycle....
So, Ardith, yes, I totally agree with climatic subtleties. Children are a
great barometer because they don't eat according to dietary guidelines, food
pyramids, the lattest books, unless we adults force our own artificial
methods onto them!
Cheers,
Judy Genova, cavegirl (3/4 moon phase.... ;-)
