Celiac Sprue and Dermatitis Herpetiformis Support group Kick-off Meeting

Date: Saturday, October 14, 2000
Time: 10-00 - 12:00 noon
Location: University of Virginia Health System, Charlottesville, VA
Dining Conference Rooms 1-3, off the main lobby

Yes, finally, the Celiac Sprue and Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Support Group is underway! I would like to invite you and your family
to the first meeting of the support group for the Charlottesville and
surrounding areas. Sue Eliot, celiac sprue patient and spokesperson for
the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG) of North America in Seattle,
Washington, will be our first guest speaker. Ms. Eliot was chairman of
GIG for 17 years and has continued to volunteer for GIG since her
retirement two years ago. She also worked as a flight attendant for 30
years after her own diagnosis of celiac sprue and hence has many stories
to share as well as helpful tips for the group. The primary goal of
this meeting is to share information with each other. Gluten-free
information will be available and gluten-free foods to sample. Please
bring any great cookbooks or recipes you have to share! In addition, we
can decide how often the group wants to meet, the best way to
communicate with each other (phone, e-mail, etc.), interest in a
newsletter, topics and speakers desired for upcoming meetings. We look
forward to seeing you!

Please RSVP Carol Parrish at: 804/924-8167 if you can come and how many will
attend. Feel free to invite other patients with celiac disease or
dermatitis herpetiformis also - just have them RSVP too.
