It might be important for us all to understand that the supplements we buy
in health food stores have absolutely no controls on them. They may list
ingredients, but there is no agency that oversees to make sure that the
ingredients they list are actually in the product -- or not in the product
in the case that it's not listed.
When some of these were tested by Consumer Reports to see if they contained
the amount of active ingredients they touted on the container, they found
that only a few contained as much as they advertised. Many had only half or
less what they stated on the container, and some had absolutely none of the
ingredient they were selling. -vance
