Actually, Joanne, when the work-release kids come around, we're pretty
strict regarding language and demeanor.  They're not there to have a good
time--they need to understand that they are on a razor's edge from going
back to juvie jail--so we insist on "Sir", "Ma'am" and appropriate English.

Ok, when the kids are around and you answer them in their own "code" do they
do double takes? Kind of makes think of when bi-lingual people, like my
grandparents who came over from Italy, would start talking in their native
language when they didn't want you to know what they were saying?
