In the U.S., Tax-Free Day, the day that the average working stiff has paid
off his debt to the government and actually gets to keep what he earns, is
sometime in early May. I wonder what the same day is for Canadians? >>>>>>>>

Kyle: Not sure if Carla answered this one... Our tax free day is in early July!!! Can you believe it? But then again, we aren't paying health insurance premiums, etc. out of our portion we get to keep. "They" get you one way or another!

We're paying 0.73 per litre of gas right now at the pumps here in Ottawa (anybody know the conversion to cost per gallon?). More worrisome is the cost of heating oil and natural gas. It's NOT a luxury to heat your home here in the winter at -40* (that's *C or *F...BRRRR) in January! :-o

We have elections coming up soon, too. Frankly, there really aren't too many choices that I can see. Anyone in Canada know where the major parties stand on Disability issues? Just curious about something... we hear a lot about the ADA in the States - is there something comparable here in Canada? Are the rights of the disabled entrenched in the Charter of Rights? I know I should know this but I have only been thinking about it recently. I know there are Canadian adults and parents on the list. What are your thoughts on what it's like to be Canadian and Disabled? I'd really like to hear.
