More egg on my face as I visited Mauro's personal site and discovered
wonderful sculpture and painting. I am a man corrected. Mr. Mauro
obviously has a multi-dimensioned identity. My gut tells me that he
"shotguns" his soapbox efforts to all of the St. Johns listservs. Could be
wrong. Mr. Mauro, why, other than self-serving interest, should I vote for
Mr. Gore? I don't seem to be less gimpy under 8 years of Mr. Clinton than I
was under 4 of Mr. Bush. Can't say it's any easier to get a job, either.

But wasn't "Moby Dick" a great paean to obsessive-compulsive disorder?

Look what Hitler did with anti Semitism, Nixon with paranoia.
I raise the cup to Specialists. I toast the certainty of viewpoint and
the high value of opinion. (Otherwise how could we get a handle on one
another, distinguish friends from enemies?)

Also those of us with anti-disability focus order. <G!> Keep in mind we
're not equally endowed with physical mobility and freedom, some more
forced to attend to our disabled bodies for the mere sake of survival
and circumstantial isolation. I suppose we don't have to walk in the
shoes of those wearing wheelchairs.

Good, thoughtful writing Kyle. Also Ken.

S.

Many apologies. I have confused Mr. Mauro with Mr. Paulsen of
Minnesota. I
apologise to you personally, Mr. Mauro, for the mistaken identity.
However
my statements re: mono-focus on issues still stand.

Ah, but Mr. Mauro is a candidate for public office, is he not? By token
of
that very fact, his contextualization of what other politicos state is
suspect. Regarding Mr. Nader, I respect the man not so much for his
political bent, but for his willingness to ride that ship to the bottom
of
the sea.

Also, Mr. Mauro, disabled as we are, there ARE other issues to be
concerned
about than our disabilities. Would seem to me that you have built a
political career around yours. Would you care to speak to the Gaza
Strip
question? US involvement in NATO? Alternatives to fossil fuels? The
state
of US public schools?

It's a darn shame you SEEM to take your entire identity from your broken
body, when your mind is so obviously healthy and vibrant.

let Medicare wither on the vine.

while i can't support either party, bob, i can support the truth. the
above
line attributed to the then speaker of the house was a doctored tape. a
cut
and splice so to say. a federal agency was what was said would wither on
the
vine (not medicare) and in context it was said because of poor
performace by
that agency.

this is not a political forum, but, we do let political statements be
made.
but, lets do at least keep to truthful statements.

now just an analsyt, not meant to be a statement of support, nader might
just force the major parties to move toward his views.
