Hi folks,
My system is:
ABIT BX6
AH2940UW
AH2906
3-4.5GBUW HD
Plextor 40X CD-ROM SCSI
Plextor 12/10/32 SCSI
ZIP 100 SCSI
Presently I have the HDs on the 2940, the CDs and Zip on the 2906, with a 4C
scanner on the external of the 2906. Before I change anything, can I boot
off a CD with this arrangement or do I have to have the CD on the boot bus?
Out of curiosity, I plugged the CD-Zip chain to the 50 pin connector on the
2940, got a Hi-mem error, and no boot of any kind. Wound up having to
reinstall 98SE on top of its self with no ill effects after returning things
to as they were. I assumed the hardware change confused Windows. I am about
due for a Fdisk cleaning of things, which would be a fine time to arrange
things on the chain as need be, if that needs to be the way to boot from CD.
So the question is, am I on the right track? I haven't been able to boot off
the CD with a change in the BIOS to "Boot from CD" the way things are.
As always, a large thanks.
