  As far as I can tell, your monitor is not seeing any signal from
the video card until you rebuild the machine.  So the places I would
look are:

  1.  The monitor.

  2.  The cable.

  3.  The video card.

At a guess, you may have a crack in a solder joint which opens up
when the machine is allowed to get cold.
