No.  That not true.  Curently I'm running 98SE on an old 486DX4-100 ­with
16MB RAM and a 2.5G HDD (no PCI).  On top of Win98SE I'm having Office97 +
SPSS 7.  Things goes smoothly excerpt sloooooooooow.

May be the problem was Office 2000.  That is very demanding.
