You're right: check each medication, in each formulation
and each dose. Don't assume anything!

The 4 and 5 mg doses of singulair are chewable - that's
why their composition is different.

The web is indeed very useful. Look at the drug
manufacturer's site, typically for the "Prescribing
Information" or "Information for Doctors" - the
information for patients and the info you find on self-
help and patient-oriented sites distills out the
ingredients info and other more complex but useful info,
such as relative frequency of side effects in test
groups.
