Ethan,
This was written 5 yrs ago (less than 15 months in Jammehs rule) at a time
when he (Jammeh) and his colleagues were less organized, less prepared to
stay in power.
Yes embargoes and military interventions may have their unpredictable
unintended consequences but leaving a country's faith to a band of rag-tag,
ill-trained, ill-mannered hijackers would predictably bring nothing but more
suffering.
