hi! I bought a house in St. Petersburg Florida about a year ago..The house is wonderful, but there are no sidewalks. The paratransit is great, but even though there is a great service economy out here, there are no professional jobs. I have a master's degree in mental health counseling with about ten years experience from New York. My professional areas and specialty are disability and interpersonal relationship issues. I use a wheelchair and function independently but don't drive so I need good public transportation and good paratransit. All this would matter less if I had a good job. I moved to Florida for the warmer weather. I know Berkley CA has been traditionally the best for accessibility. Has Los Angeles caught up? I think I would like that area better. Probably in California it may be too expensive to buy a house and I would have to live in an apartment.
I'm looking to explore these relocation issues and also stay in a warmer climate.any suggestions about the best places to live would be welcome. Thanks Gary
