Peter Amakobe:
I have always regarded you as a fine gentleman from Kenya or Uganda. But you
have given me room for a second thought with your insult on a whole country
of over a hundred million people. I do not read Aggo's mail when it comes
to issues regarding Nigeria. I deleted this one as soon as I saw it. But I
knew that "one day be one, when monkey will come out of the bush and end up
in the hunter's pot of pepper soup." I would not even have got involved in
this discussion following Ben Weller's appeal. But sometimes silence can be
destructive. It very very wrong for you to insult collectively all
Nigerians when you wrote:

>Sadly there are many governments in Africa that are being run by people who
>have no concept of what a budget is. What do you expect from a president
>who doesn't believe that sound monetary and fiscal policies plus an
>investment in up to date infrastructure is necessary for sustainable future
>economic growth. The ban in Faxes in Nigeria may have been lifted recently.
>But Mabel, do you think burning faxes as a means of communication was OK!
>There are a lot small issues that taken together create a very horrifying
>picture of the continent in years ahead. We sold each other to foreigners
>for money before. And history tends to repeat itself. SLAVERY. If that
>rings a bell, the food growers and hard laborers of the future will be
>people without the technical know-how. Africans.
>
>Second, the "West" as we all know, never paints a positive picture of
>Africa. Nigeria, in particular is a bad representative of Africa. One bad
>apple spoils a bunch. In this case you've got 20% bad apples. What do you
>expect nice smelling roses!

Please be informed that Nigerians did not ban faxes. It was banned by a
DICTATOR who wanted to duplicate what Jerry Rawlings did in Ghana-succeed
himself. In another sense Nigerians refused to be bambozled as Arap Moi did
to Kenyans. Nigerians fought him to death. Ghanaians allowed Rawlings to
have his way. That is not the Nigerian view of democracy. It was Ghanaians
choice and we do NOT have problem with that. The FAXES are working again in
Nigeria
But if I may ask you , how is Nigeria a bad representative of Africa? Is
Kenya better?
Is Ghana better? I can ask this question ad infinitum about all the
countries on the African continent .
When you insult a country, you have insulted everybody in that country. If
I were you, I will apologise to the Nigerian community over your unnecessary
outburst. LET AGGO SPEAK FOR HIMSELF.

You are quite right here. Aggo can post whatever he likes here. After all he
is the god father of the net. But he should also post such uncomplimentary
news about Ghana. It is only fair to ask him to do so
Thank you and greetings.
