Kunene, Ken Haynes, Deborah Garrett Thomas, Cynthia Adams, Fatna
Bellouchi, Karen Goulet, Abu-Hassan Koroma, Ellen Kort, james lee,
Kathy Miner, Mukoma Ngugui, Kay Plantes, Nydia Rojas, Hedi Rudd and
Janet Saiz read, sing, drum and have a good time reading poetry that
was shared at the Waters of Wisconsin Forum sponsored by the Academy
of Sciences, Arts and Letters.

Saturday, February 8. Jonathan Overby Radio Show on WI Public Radio
at 7 p.m. Fabu Mogaka ( African Languages & Literature,’80) reads
"Love Poetry"

Tuesday, February 11. 6 p.m. South African novelist Etienne van
Heerden will read from his book, The Long Silence of Mario Salviati
at the University Bookstore. Sponsored by The International Institute
and University Book Store (State Street).

Wednesday, February 12. Sandwich Seminar. 206 Ingraham Hall. Noon. Jo
Ellen Fair, Professor,
Journalism and Mass Communication; Director, Global Studies Program,

Thursday, February 13. Noon. 1418 Van Hise. Peter Quella, a
dissertator in the Department of African Languages and Literature,
will present a talk entitled, "Pinning the Butterfly to the Wall:
Oral to Written Transformation and the Study of Contemporary Oral
Tradition in Lesotho."

Tuesday,  February 18. 6 p.m., Aminatta Forna from Sierra Leone will
discuss her memoir The Devil That Danced on The Water.Please call
