Position Announcement
New Student Programs/Family Outreach
Orientation Coordinator

Department      New Student Programs/Family Outreach provides programming
that contributes to the overall academic success of the student.  The
office
is committed to reaching a diverse body of students with a realistic and
integrative representation of the Western experience.  The office is
staffed
by a Program Director, Orientation Coordinator, Office Assistant, and a
student team of 3 Student Coordinators, 18 Orientation Student Advisors &
1
Peer Advisor.

Responsibilities        Management and coordination of all aspects of
programs and services provided for new students and family members
(pre-fall
orientation for freshmen & transfers and quarterly orientations).
Responsibilities include supervision of student staff, publication
development, program structure & agendas, and coordination of
collaboration
with offices throughout the University.

Qualifications                  Required qualifications
*       Bachelor's degree
*       Minimum 2 years, full-time, in orientation or related field
*       Experience working with diverse populations
*       Excellent communication skills
*       Experience in supervision & training of student staff
*       Experience in program & publication development

                                Preferred qualifications
*       Master's degree in related field
*       Familiarity with computer technology & application to program
delivery

Position/Salary Full-time, twelve-month administrative exempt. Salary is
commensurate with experience; salary range is $30,863-46,294, plus
excellent
benefits
