King has beef with president

Reports from South Africa say President Thabo Mbeki has been ceremonially
fined one cow by the King of Lesotho for not attending his wedding in
February.

The Star newspaper said King Letsie the Third had the right to fine the
President because of his mother was born there.

The paper quoted Mr Mbeki's spokeswoman as saying he would fly to Lesotho to
deliver the cow in person, as tradition demands. President Mbeki was
represented at the wedding by his Home Affairs minister, Mangosuthu
Buthelezi.
