Aggo...This is indeed food for thought for all of us.  To answer your last
question, yes, there is evidence that the  ECOMOG (Nigerian) forces donated
military materiel and sacrificed lives to save Sierra Leone.  On another
note, I think Agrippa's point is well taken.  It is true that we have more
helicopters gunships flying all over the place--in Uganda, and Sierra Leone,
to mention just two--intended to kill and maim innocent civilians, all in
the name of power and greed, than to save one little child in Mozambique.
What a shame? It is about time Africans realized that with the collapse of
the Soviet Union; thus, bi-polarity, that Africa is nolonger of strategic
relevance to the US or Europe.  There is an African proverb which says that
"when spider webs unite, they can tie up a lion".  Think about it.  Have a
wonderful weekend.
