Nicole,

Resistance training in combination with a low carb diet will
increase the insulin sensitivity of your cells which is why it's so good
for type II diabetics (or those with hypperinsulinemia)  But it also means
you need to watch your food intake carefully around exercise so you
keep your blood sugar from dropping too much.
