What really is the oldest profession.
According to the paper this morning, the following is the
answer..
A surgeon, a civil engineer and an economist were travelling
together in a railway compartment.
The surgeon and the civil engineer were arguing as to which of
them belonged to the oldest profession, 'When God made eve' said
the surgeon, ;he took a rib from Adam and used it to create her.
That was an act of surgery, so it must be the oldest profession.'
'Nonsense,' retorted he civil engineer. 'God created the world
and universe from chaos which was all that existed before. That
was a major project in civil engineering, therefore it has to be
the oldest profession.'
The Economist smiled and said: 'Gentlemen, who do you think was
responsible for the chaos in the first place?'
Cheers,
