Come help organizers with the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) sign
up new supporters at the 2001 NCLR Annual Conference and Exhibition at
the
Milwaukee Midwest Express Center!

SATURDAY, JULY 14
SUNDAY, JULY 15

TUESDAY, JULY 17
WEDNESDAY, JULY 18

2-3 HOUR SHIFTS ON ANY OF THE ABOVE DAYS.
WHOEVER SIGNS UP THE *MOST* MEMBERSHIPS WILL QUALIFY TO WIN A FREE
COMPUTER!!

The National Council of La Raza is the nation's largest and most
powerful
Hispanic civil rights organization working to ensure a better quality
of
life for all people. Through organizing, research, lobbying and
advocacy
NCLR has made great gains in education, health, housing, community
economic development and civil rights policy. Volunteers are needed to
attend the NCLR Annual Conference - Expo, workshops and dining events -
to help sign up new members with NCLR organizers. All volunteers will go
through a short training to get the tools and skills necessary to feel
confident and be successful. They will work in teams of two and with
experienced organizers who are supportive and fun!

At the Expo Volunteers will approach people who attend the Expo and ask
them to become NCLR supporters and sign-up on the spot. A special
discounted rate and a free T-shirt will be given out to those who sign
up right then.  At the workshops and meals: People who attend the
workshops and dining events will be encouraged to sign up as new
supporters after the workshop and meal at the back of the room where
volunteers will be waiting with clipboards and T-shirts.

Volunteers will be asked to do a two to three hour shift and are
encouraged
to take several shifts throughout these five days. NCLR needs a
dependable, energetic group of volunteers - so call NOW!
All volunteers may attend any workshop at the conference for free, get
a
T-shirt and button to take home, and will work with a prepared, fun
group of
organizers. Most importantly, volunteers have an opportunity to help
NCLR
build a broader, more powerful base of supporters that will enable them
to
continue their important work.
