Hello Listmates, I can't seem to find a site that explains test results
in layman's terms. I am celiac and was diagnosed by biopsy in October
of 2000. My only symptom was being anemic. I had my 3 boys tested by
blood test. They have no symptoms so my pediatrician would not test them
until I made a pain of myself. All their numbers were under
7(negative)except for their GLIADIN AB (IGG) was 26units for the one and
my youngest was 72units. The report said that 20-30units was a weak
positive and over 30units moderate to strong positive. These numbers
were both flagged as high by the lab. The pediatrician said that the
numbers mean nothing, if the other numbers are low.
Does anyone have any experience similar, know what these numbers mean, or a
resource where I can look this up?
I asked my GI but he said he can't get involved with another doctors
patient.
Thanks,
Ria
