Hi-
My 2 1/2 year old son has been gf for about a month now and is doing
much better overall. I don't know if this could be related, but the
last three days he has woken with extreme terror from his afternoon nap.
He screams and shakes all over and acts traumatized. He doesn't seem
to be in any pain really. His eyes are open and he gets up out of bed
and screams "mama". He acts terribly scared and wants me to hold him
and rock him. He has not been completing his usual 1 1/2 - 2 hour nap,
but usually wakes within the first hour and still appears to be very
tired. I have read in the book What to Expect the Toddler Years about
night terrors. This sounds similar, but it has been happening every day
and night terrors are supposed to be fairly infrequent. Could he be
experiencing some sort of withdrawal due to this new diet? He stays at
home with me, so I know he is not being harmed in any way by someone.
There has been no stressful situations occur in his life lately except
when his blood has been drawn for all of the tests he has had run. He
is my first so I don't have any experience.
Melinda
