Go to www.pricewatch.com and look for CD-ROM and Floppy drives. You can get both so cheap that you could never make one for that price. I have seen floppy drives for $9 on Pricewatch. I haven't heard of a place that offers parts for building drives since they can be purchased so cheaply. I can get a generic floppy drive at my local CompUSA store for under $20.
Getting parts and assembling them into a working drive would be a horrible task. Get someone to send you one of each for your birthday or for Christmas.
I am sorry if this is not the right platform to ask this question. The problem is: I would like to assemble CD-ROM and Floppy Drives on a small scale. I would like to know if this can be done without using high end technology, and if so where can I get the necessary components. I thought it might be cheaper to do that on my own as these drives cost a packet here (Zimbabwe). nbsp; Thanks in advance. nbsp;
