Do you have the user's manual for the mobo? What CPU's it will support
should be in the manual along with the supported front side bus speeds (66,
100, 133 Mhz, DDR, Rambus). Is it a slot 1 or a socket 370 mobo? It may
also need some jumper setting changes which should be in the manual. If you
don't have the manual you need to go to Abit's web site to find out this
basic info. Generally you can't just stick any CPU in there, and absolutely
need to have the manual, go to the web site, or be lucky enough to get a
response from someone who has this mobo and has upgraded it.
Subject: [PCBUILD] Upgrading a CPU for Abit BH6 MoBo
I have an Abit BH6 MoBo and would like to upgrade for a 850 Mhz PIII but I'm
not sure if any PIII could do the thing. Does it have some rule to follow in
order to succesfully upgrade this MoBo.
