Most likely cause is that you disturbed the ribbon cable connecting the
floppy, or changed the CMOS configuration settings for the floppy when you
were configuring the hard disk. I know of no connection between a floppy and
hard disk (except for an LS-120 drive).

problem now is that the 3 1/2" floppy is not working and it was before the
4.3gb
drive was installed. I copied all the files I need to this computers hard
drive
and removed my 4.3gb drive with the hope that the floppy would work again
but no
