Christine,
As many of us on this list can tell you, a persons allergies can change
every 7 years. So what your doctor says is a 'period of heightened
sensitivity' may just be your body changing it's allergies. Been there, done
that. I used to eat ice cream and drink milk every day. That's why it took
so long for us to find out why I started getting sinus infections at age 21.
Ben,
I was not on any 'dangerous' medications, however I was on a dose a day of
antibiotics from October to April from age 6 through age 12... I was very
succeptible to colds and they didn't know of the harm it could cause to the
intestines back then (1972-1978).
