Anyone interested in knowing about Kwanzaa, its origin, its history, its
philosophical vision, as well as Dr. Maulana Karenga's prognosis for its
future, should read my interview of him published in four parts in the
newspaper The Madison Times Weekly on the following dates: January 5-11,
2001; January 12-18, 2001; January 19-25, 2001; and January 26 to February
1, 2001. I knew Dr. Karenga personally, before he assumed the name Karenga,
as he studied Zulu with my assistance, as he formed the organization "Us"
which was a prelude to Kwanzaa. It is all there in this series of
conversations I had with him for the Madison Times.
