Moderator: I don't know if this is hardware of
software. I can send to software if you want to reject
it.
I have a Hewlett Packard computer with a tag on the
front that says it is designed for Windows98. I
thought I could put Windows95 on it as I don't have a
W98 disk. Maybe not. I have installed this version of
W95b on this old 486 and everything works fine but on
the Hewlett Packard I am having problems.
At this point I have W95 installed but I can't get it
to recognize the modem. I used "standard modem" on old
computer but that won't work. I guessing I'll have to
find a driver for the modem?? Windows searchs for
modem but says no modem was found. The modem hasn't
been touched since before my W98 became corrupted and
was removed.
No 256 color option. Only 16 color and monochrome. It
also wasn't that way on the older computer so I
thought it should be the same on this one.
The sound card doesn't work and again I'm guessing I
need a driver?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
