Go to Steve Gibsons site and run through his ShieldsUp testing program.  this will also give you some kind of idea how secure your system is.  You will need to dril down 4 or 5 levels but it will display the IP address he finds for your computer. Find him at  http://grc.com

I ran the file called WINIPCFG.EXE in the windows directory. It shows a chart with info on my cable address, but the box where it says IP ADDRESS is all 0's?
0.0.0.0. How do I read the true IP ADDRESS?
