Here's the summary:

Yes, Motrin is GF, as is Advil. (Both of them consist of ibuprofen).

One of you told me about a good website for checking on the gluten-content of
many foods and meds:

"It can be downloaded for free . . . . It was last updated 1-19-00. I think
you will find this interesting. The list has 88 pages and can be found at:
http://geocities.com/HotSprings/Spa/4003/gf-ongoing.html

One of you also had a warning about NSAIDs (which include aspirin, ibuprofen,
and diclofenac):

"I have read that NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) should not
be used by anyone with small instine problems. I double-checked with my
pharmacist (as you may want to do) when I was going to buy Advil. I told him
that I had CD. He confirmed what I had read and recommended that I buy any
product with the ingredient in Tylenol instead."
**The ingredient in Tylenol is Acetaminophen.

My note: Tylenol doesn't help my headaches at all. If Tylenol doesn't work
for your pain, NSAIDs will probably be ok, since many of you wrote to say
that Motrin and Advil are GF. The pharmacist is right that NSAIDs can cause
"upset stomach" (even causing ulcers) in some people. But if they don't give
you any problems, you will probably be alright (if you don't have any other
contraindications to taking them).
