Hello everyone,
I received many replies on gagging. Many of you reported that you have
experienced gagging a lot, often (but not always) in response to eating
gluten. Some even replied that some of their non-celiac family members have
experienced this.
Some of those that replied did not have an answer either, but were also
concerned about it and were anxious to hear my summary.
Others of you suggested that it may be:
1) Acid reflux (in which case there would be accompanying heartburn)
2) Esophageal "problems"
3) Gallbladder "problems" (a sudden influx of bile into the stomach), which
some Celiacs evidently experience
Although many of you replied that you experience gagging, most weren't sure
if it was related to Celiac disease or not.
For those that suggested it, we have taken your advice. My husband has an
upcoming doctor's appointment. Maybe she will have more insight for us.
Holly
