On behalf of our W. Ky. Resource Unit, I would like to thank Kinnikinnick
for supplying samples for our last meeting. Everything arrived fresh and
whole. There is also a great intangile bonus provided: Our members felt so
happy about seeing and eating "real food." They started hugging one another
and jumping for joy. Mere words cannot capture the feeling of gratitude
from everyone who sampled the bread, donuts, hamburger buns,
bagels, cookies and English muffins. The products were so much like the
stuff formerly known as wheat bread replicas, that some people were a
little reluctant to join in the fun until they were assured that the
products definitely were gf.
Now we have two excellent sources for good gf:
Kinnickinnick and Mr. Ritt's Bakery. We hope they succeed in their
businesses, so that we don't have celiacs mourning over "real" food. The
variety of products is terrific and can cause happy eaters to swoon - I
don't know when I have enjoyed gf food so much.
We delivered "Care Packages" to those unable to attend and froze some items
for newbies. It would be terrific if celiacs could start on tasty food and
not have to endure the cardboard substitutes. This is more in line with the
philosophy of "It's all about what we can eat and not what we can't."
We are going to attempt to place consolidated orders before our meetings.
Hopefully W. Baptist Hospital will agree to having the orders sent there.
Kinnikinnick shipping fee is $15 with a maximum of $200 in the US. Our
RD's, Ruth Kraper and Laura King have helped us so much that we can't begin
to thank them.
Thanks from all of us to Jay (of Kinnickinnik) and Paul (Mr. Ritts.) If
anyone has any ??, please let me know.

I have no financial or other interest in these companies.
