I'm beginning to believe this may be the case... LOL ;-) I've tried
talking to it,  threatening it, prayed over it and ate popcorn over it.
Still no change.

I would believe this if it weren't for the fact that when the card is
removed from the motherboard it doesn't happen. This is what piques my
interest. I know this is an isolated instance due to the fact I can put
the card in another board and it will shut down and stay down. I can't
put my finger on what causes the restart sequence in the shut down mode.
I even installed the MAP patch from Microsoft. sigh Could there be a
signal that causes the board to view the shut down as a restart? If that
be the case...

Everyone I've spoken with finds this anomaly quite interesting. A friend
said his machine did the same thing, he fixed it but can't remember what
he did to do so. LOL Or did he??? I know for a fact that he didn't have
a network card installed.

I am going to pursue this as far as I can. At this point, Intel is
supposed to contact me next week. <smile> In any case, for those who may
be interested, I will post the outcome either way. I may have to wrestle
HP for a new board.

I have noticed that there are times the the desk top is different. This
leads me to believe the Jose may be right in his call. The screen is
normally the puke default green. There have been several times the the
desk top was blue and it has the words Windows 98 on it. Quite
attractive I might add. I've never seen this before and I can't seem to
replicate it on a steady basis. If this be the case, I suspect that the
Video section of the MOBO could be going out. Nice huh? How do I tell my
client that the MOBO is going South? It's like taking your car to the
mechanic for repair. Every thing that happens after that is due to
something they did.

Ever have a clients machine die in your possession when it was working
before you took it? Not a nice situation.
