Two years ago I installed the new Creatives Labs 5X DVD drive on one
of my homebuilt clones . Upon installing it I had a few problems getting
movies files to play etc.. To compound my problems my Creative Labs SB
16 PCI card suddenly "died" for MIDI files. Still have that card on the
shelf and it plays everything fine except for MIDI files. A new SB card
(the 128 PCI) solved my MIDI problem on the DVD computer and a short
talk with Creative Labs fixed all the DVD issues. YMMV. Try a
replacement card and you'll probably be OK.
