When I booted my computer last night, it made a constant beeping sound like
a
fire alarm.  It booted successfully after giving me a brief error message of

"Bad command or file name."  After the beeping (which quit once Windows came

up, after the error message), there were no further problems in operation.
Any ideas?

It's a Gateway Pentium II (GX-450XL), 128 mg RAM running Windows 98.
