Bruce:
here is a link to a discription of the windows setup switches:
http://fp.computers.pcc.edu/pmcg/HTML/setup_switches.htm
I use the /is switch if I have to start over with an install and have
already run scandisk.
/is - skips the scandisk phase.
/im - ignores the conventional memory check.
/iv -bypasses displaying the Setup screens during an upgrade within Windows
haven't heard of the /id switch but there are more undocumented switches.

Subject: [PCBUILD] Windows 98 setup shortcut
> I have been informed that there is a shortcut for Windows 98 during
setup that cuts the time in half and I would like to >know if it is a full
installation or if is only the standard installation. Does the command take
less time because it is the typical install or does it possibly skip the
time it takes to set up a virtual memory on the hard drive?
> The command is D:\win98\setup /im /id /is
