Subject: [PCBUILD] Windows shutdown problem
> How come when I try to shutdown Win98SE on my machine it won't shutdown? The floppy drive comes on and stays on while the Windows is shutting down screen comes on and then nothing happens. I've installed the Windows shutdown upgrade and it didn't have any effect on this problem. Otherwise--everything else works fine. Need help. Thanks Ed Bogert [log in to unmask]

Ed,
Check your antivirus program to see if it is checking your floppy drive upon shutdown. If it is try to disable this feature if possible. If you can't disable it, then try unloading the antivirus program before you shutdown, either through the antivirus program itself or MSConfig. You can then determine if it is causing the problem. Check your antivirus venders web site for patches if it is causing the problem.
